How you can help

Hi all,

We are hard at work on preserving our community and wanted to remind everyone how you can contribute. If you’re of like mind and also see the overwhelming negatives of a million-square-foot warehouse, we welcome your support!

(Seriously: the one that’s just been constructed along the side of Rt. 61 south of Schuykill Valley School District buildings is over 600,000 sq. ft. Next time you’re in the area, check out how that looks and then add another 1/3 in square footage.)

DONATIONS

We have TWO means for donating to our fund, which is being used for legal representation, signage and other operating costs as part of this fight. (Remember, WE are fighting for the neighborhood and are doing it out of our own pockets. The developer has far more resources.)

  • GoFundMe: simply input your information and away we go. All proceeds will be available to our fund: this is not a situation whereby we must hit our fundraising targets in order to receive money.
  • Donations by mail: if you feel more comfortable sending a check, we have an account set up at a local bank. Checks can now be written out to Save Maidencreek with the word Donation in the memo field and can be mailed to
    • Save Maidencreek
    • PO Box 296
    • Blandon, PA 19510

Much more to come from us in the coming days, including updates on our legal challenge to the developers’ ludicrous claim that their application had been approved. LET US BE CLEAR: this is not a done deal. The developers do not have approval to build this warehouse. There are still many hearings to come, including the opportunity for public comment — during those meetings, you can make your case, present exhibits and arguments — so do not give up or lose hope.

There’s also a lot of political back-and-forth in light of upcoming township elections: our group is remaining focused on the needs of the community, not on the talking points of any one candidate.

Thank you so much for your support.
