It’s the holiday weekend and the next conditional use hearing is TUESDAY, so let’s have a discussion about some of the major issues regarding this proposed million-square-foot warehouse in our community.

Emissions from a warehouse of 100,000 square feet or more can affect the health of those living within 0.5 to 2 miles of that building. The proposed warehouse will be OVER 9 TIMES THAT at 930,000 square feet. So, if you think you’re in the clear if you don’t live right next to it, think again.

Here is an interactive map showing Berks County is already in the Highest Impact zone for air pollution effects from diesel and that PA ranks #7 out of 49 for cancer risk due to diesel soot!
