While the Sept. 20 meeting was in session, members of the community reported a high volume of sirens and emergency response vehicles in our area: turns out there has been another serious accident on our roads, near this proposed million-square-foot warehouse site.
WFMZ had few details, but did report that the road was closed for 3-4 hours while emergency services attended to the situation. UPDATE: It’s since been reported that a man died in this accident — he was hit by a vehicle while riding his bike — and Northern Berks Regional Police are seeking information as to who is responsible.
These roads are already increasingly dangerous since the roundabouts have been installed — we have the official data to prove it — and began making our case in Wednesday night’s conditional use hearing to that effect. These roads and this community CANNOT HANDLE this warehouse, nor its added traffic and congestion. That’s a FACT.
The next meeting is WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 18 at the Maidencreek Township Building. We will continue to state our case opposing this development. Join us.
