On behalf of SaveMaidencreek, thank you to everyone who attended and participated at the Sept. 20 meeting. WFMZ has a recap of some contentious exchanges, but our message is clear: this project does not meet the township criteria for a successful conditional use application.

• We presented information that directly contradicts their traffic estimates and questions the validity of various reports submitted in their application
• We also successfully showed the uptick in accidents around the proposed warehouse site and involving the roundabout on Schaffer Rd. that is apparently the sole point of exit/entry for this million-square-foot fulfillment center.
• We raised the concerns over EastPenn Manufacturing and their memo stating a tentative lease agreement for that warehouse. The use? Storing batteries — including potentially storing lithium batteries — for order fulfillment.

The next hearing is scheduled for WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 18 with another one scheduled for WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 25. It is our belief that the Oct. 25 date could be a PUBLIC COMMENT hearing in which anyone in our community and neighborhood is able to register their disapproval and present documents to that effect.
